Who this is for
School and college leavers looking for a first skill that earns, small business owners who want to sell online themselves, and anyone moving into freelance work. Suitable for complete beginners.
What you need first
None beyond basic computer use — opening a browser, typing, and managing files. A laptop or desktop with a reliable internet connection is needed for the practical work; a phone alone is not enough.

What this course sets out to do

  • Explain how the digital marketing channels fit together, and when each one is the right choice.
  • Plan and run campaigns on search, social and email against a stated goal and budget.
  • Write and design content that a specific audience will actually read and act on.
  • Measure results with analytics, and report honestly on what worked and what did not.
  • Find and keep paying clients as a freelancer or in-house marketer.

What you will be able to do

  • Audit a website or page and list what is stopping it from converting visitors.
  • Build a keyword plan and apply on-page SEO to a real site.
  • Set up, run and optimise a Google Ads search campaign within a set budget.
  • Produce a month's social media content calendar and the posts to fill it.
  • Write email sequences that get opened and get replies.
  • Read Google Analytics and Search Console, and turn the numbers into a client report.
  • Price your work, write a proposal and deliver a campaign end to end.
